Wheel fitment... was created by little jimny
If anyone buys themselves a lovely set of early Vitara alloys for their Jimny, make sure you have them balanced using stick on weights 'cos the clip on ones will foul the steering arm......

Please don't ask how I know this

They're fine now having removed the offending weights and getting the wheels rebalanced. The initial "clunk, clunk, clunk - oh shit!" moment wasn't good, and I did feel a tad embarrassed (but relieved) when the RAC man pointed out that the inside of the wheels were fouling the steering arms (I always put the Jim into 4WD when I change wheels to stop the hubs spinning and I just assumed the free-wheeling hubs had gone AWOL). When I took the wheels off I could see the clip on weights were scored. These wheels are marked ET20 but the original wheels don't have the offset marked on them as far as I can see - I'm assuming now that they must be zero offset. I know lots of folk on here use spacers but I'm not really a big fan of them and to be honest at this time of year it's an expense I could do without.

You should always balance alloys with stick on weights.
The clip on ones damage the paint, allow moisture in, and the alloy corrodes.
The corrosion gets between tyre and rim, and the tyre goes down slowly.

Kw**F*t don't seem to know this however......

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Funny you should mention them - KF were the only place local that was open today (despite two other tyre places that proudly display 'open 7 days' being closed at two in the afternoon  ), and they used stick on weights :P
