Okay my Jimny has a intermittent problem (not a big problem) with getting into first - second and reverse. It always goes into gear. Just sometimes takes a bit of getting into. Doesn't bother me just wondering if there is anything I can do to make the gears smoother?

And as I am still new to jimnys! What can I do to prolong the life of the Jimny? Like engine stuff? Or anything else?

It's a 2000 1.3 JLX - 97tho miles

I'd like to keep it for ever! I love it!

Any help be grand!

The Jimny gearbox is a bit clunky anyway, particularly when cold and particularly trying to engage 1st when you are still moving.

Be gentle with it and keep the gearbox oil nice and clean!
If you are off roading a lot fit breather extensions to stop water going in to the box that way.
