having to grind the front top nuts off now,is the large washer type thing on top of the rubber screwed on,(standard ones) there is a nut at the top then another nut but did not no if the 2nd nut was attached to the large washer,ta

First and from the top down over you have the top nut which is actually a locknut for the one below, this holds down the domed washer which in turn keeps the rubber compressed. When you undo the top two nuts the shocker thread should just pull through.
Sometimes you have to hold the shocker to stop it turning especially if you have already removed the bottom mounting.
If you are doing this be careful you dont have your hand straddling the upper and lower sections of the shock absorber as the release in pressure when you remove the nuts can cause the unit to close up and trap your skin! I learned this from painful experience

owch...thanks ,so the washer is not connected to the nut,tryed alsorts to undo it and chucking the old shocks anyway so im just guna chop them off tomorow.

Thats correct washer not attached to nut(s). Why wont the nuts undo. Is the whole shock turning or are the nuts rusted on?

rusted, cant turn the nuts without the rod beneath turning,tried heat,mole grips n rounded em off now anyway.
