B)

got for free, just need 1 bub and some wiring ;) there not fantastic quality and may require some clear silicone to seal them up.

NOS bargain from a D44 forum member.

and some ARB Style 'Blue' Illuminated Carling Switches for them!!

Anybody recommend somewhere cheap to buy longer solenoid cables? I'm mounting the control box next to the battery under the bonnet.

I've got an old synthetic rope off a Superwinch Husky.

Its seen some hammer from the elements, never repaired by the look of it. Any way of having them tested in someway? I cleaned it on a cool wash in the washing machine in a pillow case! It came out great.

The only thing I can think of is put the handbrake on and try pulling the truck to put some load on it and see if it breaks???

That's some tiny cables for a winch that draws almost 500 amps full load. I'd say 50mm2 cables, at least. Just to be sure.

Thats how you should set up your winch cable
Find an area with a slight incline set on end of the rope/cable to a fixed object (tree) and the other in your winch then winch in keeping an eye on the layers as they go on :-)
The amount of people who dont do this is stagering , buy a winch bolt it on and at first use under load the layers just dig into the other layers as it takes up the slack/ gaps
Good way to screw a winch and cable

Thanks TomDK. l'll put some decent ones on. Not looked at Darths's link yet.

Reapet me olde' - your are spot with that. I was bored amd read the manual for the winch and you are indeed correct. Spool it off until about the last 5 wraps then winch it back on with a few 100kilo weight onto the drum. Might see if I can mount it next weekend whwn ive got some more cable :)
