Just thought ide come on and say hello.

Bought a 2003 jimny 2 days ago before I left for a 2 week trip for work. Fell in love with it as soon as I saw it.
I'm not into serious off road work but I will want it to handle the odd pot hole and very muddy field/track as I do a lot of hunting/shooting and that's the reason behind getting an affordable 4x4.

Can anyone suggest and nice easy mods that will improve the jeep from its standard road going state?

The things I want to do so far are

Suspension lift ( not massive maybe 2")
Snorkel (simply because it looks cool)

I'm not fussed about changing wheels and tyres unless it looks daft with the lift on the original wheels.

I've read so many mods that ppl are doing but a lot of these would be over kill for what I need at he moment lol

Things like a steering damper, what would hat actually do to improve the drive and how hard to fit one.

Thanks for any help guys, I'm sure loads of ppl have asked these same questions many times before.

Could I also please ask,

Is there any upgraded spark plugs, ignition leads and filters to buy that will be better then standard ones?

And what oil is the best to use as I want to put the best in her to keep her running sweet for as long as possible.

She has 69,000 miles and full service history looking to be done around every 5000 miles.

I checked what I could when viewed her and he previous owner showed me round the recommended points to look at from this site.

Welcome along, I can't give you any advice regarding 'moding' but can say with a decent set of tyres my Jimny gets around fields in standard trim .... ;)

Thanks for the reply mate.

Ill be perfectly honest mate, it will near enough do the job I want it for as it is. I had a berlingo van before this and even though I got it stuck a few times I always managed to get it out. So the jeep should easy manage to out perform that.

I just want to spend some money on my new toy, just put the best smallish mods on it I can to make it even better then it is.

Ill be servicing it myself when I get home, only done 3500 miles since last service in the book but I want to do it so I know 100% it done. I want to use the best oil, filters ect

Snapped a couple of pictures before I left her at home, some of you may have seen her before as the previous owner used this site, no idea if they were a member or just viewed posts.
