Suspension Lifts.. Any Recommendations Please? was created by Countryboy03
Hey Guys,
Already have my Jimny lifted, but one damper is leaking pretty badly and the others don't have much left in them plus the springs have seen better days, so im after a tried and tested kit.
Only options I have come across is the Rough Country kit from the shop on here and the 'Mud Skipper Kit' on ORA's website - is there any other options I can look at?
My budget is circa £600 but can go more if it's deemed worth it.
I'd like to go 3'' or under if possible although I got 31s on so would the 2.5'' Mud Skipper do the job or would it scrub heavily?
Im not a heavy duty off roader, just green laning really but I'd like to do the occasional P&P day.
Here's how it stands at the minute:

I don't know how much this is lifted but the guy at a local 4x4 place recons 3'' and im happy with this.
Also while I'm here when is it needed to go for new panhard rods?
Thanks in advance!

The amount of lift you need depends solely on how much you are willing to trim the arches. With enough trimming, 2" lift is all you need to fit 31's if you ask me(most people here will tell you need about 6" lift to make room for them, but I have 33's on 3" lift
). Although, to me your trucks seems to be high enough and well balanced the way it is, and if your shocks are bad just replace them, because the springs are always good if they are intact!
And the adjustable panhard rods will come in handy at the point where the axles seem to be significantly off center after a lift.

As Paul said your lift seems ok so why not just replace your shocks?

All you need is shocks like Paul said, so don't waste your money on new springs.

And you can get new shocks in the Bigjimny shop. I'd suggest taking one off each end of the car, measuring them fully extended and emailing Martin to discuss which ones to order. Then you'll know you've got the right length shocks.
