There must be dozens of news items on it but I'm on my phone so pasting a link is tricky. Essentially he was a Landrover nut and a DIY mechanic but cut corners. I think he had two different types of brake calipers on one axle or something like that and had a crash on the road killing one of his kids and when the Police inspected his car they found loads wrong with it. He went to prison from what I remember.
Makes me paranoid working on mine, everything has to be just so or I'm not happy.
With the size of sidewall on one of our tyres, it's a fair angle the car will tip to if you get a blow out, imagine that at speed! I shudder to think! Especially combined with how a lifted offroader handles with all tyres inflated properly!
It's a ball ache but the Buckshots will be good.

Here you go mate, Nigel Gresham is the guy:
www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-...-four-children.html#
news.sky.com/story/660152/father-killed-kids-in-car-tragedy
This is an extreme case I know but this quote is relevant to this dicussion -
Senior investigating officer Sgt Dave Kay, of Lincolnshire Police, said he welcomed the jury's decision although "there is no joy or celebration".
"I do not believe that Nigel Gresham intended to cause his family harm on that fateful day," he said. "However, he was reckless in that he was fully aware of the state of his vehicle and should never have placed his family in such danger."
Knowing the tyres might not be up to standard, if the worst were to happen, how would you feel and how would it be viewed by others investigating the incident and you???
Heavy I know, but worth a thought or two.

So, looking into what offroaders tend to do, what's all the hype about 31'' tyres, advantages, fit on these ^ wheels etc?
Heres how it stands:

Will these 31'' Buckshot be a wise choice:
Thanks!

the Maxxis are good tyres and you won't go far wrong them, sooner you get rid of that tyre the better
taller tyres such as 31" give more clearance under the axle and radius arms for offroading than standard tyres but will also need serious wheel arch trimming to fit without rubbing on flex
It will then depend on how agressive the tyre pattern (and your driving style) is on whether you start breaking halfshafts, CV's or diffs

Well im trying to decide weather to buy 235.75.15 Buckshot's or 31.10.5.15 Buckshot's.
There's only £50 difference between the two, for a set of four.
If you look at the pics, my wheel arches have been considerably trimmed - think that will be enough (going off the pics)?
Thanks for info dude.
