If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

IMHO, a waste of money.
The viscous unit is designed to freewheel when you don't need the cooling, so it doesn't sap much power.
The electric unit is just something else to go wrong, compared to the uber-reliable viscous unit.
If the electric fan provided as much airflow as a mechanical fan on full chat, it would use more current than the starter motor.
(I base this on Kenlowe reckoning it takes 8.5% of the engine power to run the fan, 8.5% of say 60HP is 5.1HP, 1HP=746Watts, so the fan consumes 3800W which would be 316 amps @12V. Someone has been exagerating somewhere.......)

Hiya guys
Sorry for the confusion here, we have been working loads on the website and some of the descriptions aren't quite finished... lots has been done in the last couple of days including finishing of the info on the fan kits.
We have had quite a few knackered suzuki viscous fans in our workshop, it really is not uncommon on trucks that have seen a lot of mud and crud.
The kit really is aimed more at the challenge and comp guys, and if you check the site again you can read the updated info.

I was thinking sticking an electric on as well as the viscous but putting it on the front side of the rad as looking at the rad there are 4 holes around the side 1 in each corner. and rather than spending real money on a fan just going down the scrappy, then wire it into a switch & when I see the temp gauge rise, just turn it on.
