pros and cons of a winch bumper was created by Tommo
A friend of mine is able to make me a bumper for my puddle jumper
fuel econemy? does it make it much worse, the one im hvaing made up isn't very havy duty, its more tubing than an actuall bumper
MOT?
there is a law todo with impact on pedestrians, cars have to be shaped so that a person is more likely to be hit and roll off the bonnet as aposed to me squishing them in the grill lol
I dont really want to kill some one and be jailed for it lol
is it an extreme thing to be doing putting one on?
and air bag sensors, where are they?
and will a bar efffect it in a crash?
the main purpose is to look good really,
and for the odd laning day, its really to have a good front recovery poiint, and it just gives me an option to have a winch later on if I choose, but also to mount some lights on it
honest opinions what do you all think?

cant see it having that much effect on mpg. if it's tubular make sure the rad is protected. if you crash the jim then a winch bumper can only afford you more protection.. as for pedestrians just dont hit one, winch bumper or not
if you do kill someone you'll probably be jailed anyhow.

thats to manufacture and sell them
thats why they are always stated now as for offroad use only
I believe that if a winch is fitted it comes under a different law but I'm sure someone will be along soon who knows
our jimny had a winch bumper fitted before we bought it

I wonder whether "Challenge Wings" - tubular protectors/reinforcement for wings would be considered the same as a Bullbar?
I'd never really considered it - but it's a possibility!
In my experience, bull bars are a bad idea even on an off road vehicle. If you hit them hard enough, it bends the whole front of your vehicle instead of just one corner. I've even seen them bend the ends of chassis rails!
