If so many of you want diesel TUD5 will bolt easily to the jimny box using an sj adaptor plate and a bit of drilling we got it all fitted together in a day not the most powerfull thing but will certainly be reliable and damn good on fuel.
Lot of people slag it off due to head gasket problems but i think if you check it was its little brother the 1400cc unit that had problems not 1526 unit and also i think you will find its actually more powerfull than the 1500cc isuzu engine.
Its compact available for less than £150 and has a nice shallow sump that wont give you to many clearance problems with the front axle if nothing else pug do make a damn good diesel shame about the rest of the car

Guys
I saw the Bullet super charger in the previous pages (the intercooler version including the XEDEX thing) and it is all a dream but is $8240 worth plus shipping freight not to mention customs here in Panama. The kit costs more than the car
it could be easier here in Pananma to look after a Swift 1.6 engine from a yunkyard a get an expert resource to adapt it into the Jimny transmission.
By the other hand the Rotrex from SDPerformance looks good with an achievable price (around $3200 prox + shipping & customs) but quite expensive yet, I am concerned about cooling system also. Have any of you guys tried this one? Do you happen to know someone who did? If so... how is it in a heavy duty muddy trail?
I was wondering if the EMEA or APJ market have options for performance pistons, camshaft, headers and computer upgrade. This kind of stuff is closer to my $2k flat budget including shipping & freight.
What do you think?

Sorry im late to this thread, but ive only recently returned to the UK, and have time on my hands.
Swing away rear carrier for the spare .. use the mounting points that the tow bar attaches to.
Bolt on Diff Protection
Tree sliders that can be bolted to the chassis rails
Wheel arch flairs
How about some cosmetic mods .. Cages for the lights (rear and front) like the defenders ? (made from powder coated steel bar ?)
Not sure about a light bars though, the plastic stick on ones that Ooky had worked better than the custom ones I looked at fabricating for myself (and cheaper too).
How about an internal Brace ( like a Rugby post ) for those that donot want to fit a full cage but want extra safety ? (doesnt have to be FIA approved, and could be sold as a cosmetic to get around the legalities of having it tested), but would be bolt in ?
I wanted a Front A bar but every one I approached to make one let me down or didnt want to know ... im sure there are people that want bolt on bits and want to retain the original look ( again, cosmetic, but providing protection )
