What do you use to thin the Hammerite? I ask because Hammerite thinners itself is really costly.

i use white spirit just a small amount
then when you paint it on it looks a
little grey but after a couple of coats
it looks like the wheel picture
pluss it dry's really quick ;)
painted my car alloys same way 5yrs ago with no flaking yet

Thanks for the tips, guys! I'm happy with my standard track (no lift, no spacer) I don't want to do any modification. All I want just a little more serious look, which can be done by MT tires and black Dotz Dakar wheels. Cheers.

Anyway you've done a nice paint job!

MT tyres on standard silver rims is the best look :P Black rims on an otherwise standard car always looks cheap to me.

Also 195s will work best on a narrower rim. 7" rims will make your sidewalls and tyre beads more exposed.

My last Jimny was pretty standard, I just got the rear 3 windows tinted, and painted the wheels with a brush, it looked pretty good.
I think it also depends on the colour of the Jimny as well.

I'm going to avoid 7". I think my silky silver jimny will look good with black 6" wide dakar wheels (and I know it won't be cheap as I'll buy new tires on new wheels)

3rd pic I want to achieve or something similar.
