Can anyone tell me how to remove the rear seat backrests. The seat squabs were easy, but the backrests ??

There's a vecro flap on the window side bottom corner, undo the bolt under these
There is also 4 bolts (2 for each seat) in the centre under the plastic seat belt clip surround.
The bolts will have corroded, as they are exposed under the car. They will come with a bit of swearing and blood from your knuckles

My seat squabs are in 2 pieces, not 1 as yours seems to be. But the pictures are extremley useful. Thank youboth. Should be able to take them out easy peasy tomorrow.

The new VVT seat squabs are terrible design compared to the older 2 piece
The back sections are identical
