Hi all, we have just taken delivery of our first Jimny (which in true girly fashion i have named Jimmy! how original i hear you cry!), 54 plate in need of some TLC. Has had a couple of scrapes and not been very sympathetically repaired! :(
We purchased him from Ebay without viewing as he was some 270 miles away, we knew we were taking a bit of a gamble but as i work at a garage with a bodyshop, and as he went for a cheap price compared to what we would have to pay for a clean vehicle of the same age we decided to take the gamble!.
Can anyone please recommend somewhere we might look for a second hand O/S/F Wing & inner wheel arch? We have managed to get most of the other parts we needed from some guys on ebay but we are struggling with the wing as they all seem to be damaged in this area!!. I can get a main dealer new one for about £150 but obviously a cheaper one would be more favourable!!
He is also sitting a bit unlevel at the back so he will be going over the pit on friday to see whats going on underneath, general consensus is that he may have had 1 rear spring fitted and so is sitting unlevel, lets hope this is the case and nothing more sinister!!.
Next issue, he has rather a mind of its own with steering at 30+ mph so this also needs addressing, it tends not to self centre, so you constantly have to correct the steering, we have got a set of kingpin bearings as the other half thinks this may be the cause after some research on here, but the mechanics will no doubt find out on friday when the look at it.. My lad has had a look underneath and says that there seems to be some dry joints in the steering rack area so that may also be attributing to the problems (he is by no means a mechanic tho, just a humble engineering student!!)
Many thanks in advance for any advise!

Hi and welcome,

For the wings - CAM Suzuki ebay shop and you might be lucky to get one in the right colour! Or a pattern part from Eurocarparts - might take as long to make fit properly as it would to repaint a proper second hand one though!

Steering having a mind of it's own - I take it is standard and not lifted? If so track rod ends? Play in the steering box?

Hard to say without looking at it.
