Hi there,

I'm in Rochford so not too far away!

Have a look at our club site www.4x4er.co.uk .

It's a bit of a treck for you and it's quite damaging (read hardcore) but you'd probably enjoy popping down and seeing what goes on at a pay and play day or at www.essexoffroad.com which is near Chelmsford and is more suited to a standard vehicle or slightly modified one.

I'll not be at our August meet as I'm working and most of the club is away at Slindon on the September meet date, so the September meet might change to a different weekend.

If you see one locally and want me to have a look at it for you, you're welcome. Just send me a PM and I'll pick it up on my emails.

Don't rush to buy one though, this is the right time of year but there is plenty of summer months left yet. Keep an eye on eBay and be prepared to travel a little.

If you plan to offroad it, avoid one with abs and you are right to try to get a twin cam engined one from 2000 on but soft tops didn't get the twin cam straight away - I would personally go for a hard top anyway for the security point of view.
