Only about a thousand times what I'm expecting mine to cost! Think I need to get started this weekend, The Barnsley one has given me a few ideas re the castors.

some pictures of the snow plough no plans were made it was built from scratch
this was the only piece i had to buy it was extended then folded then i cut it in have the rest of the metal i had lying around

[img][/img]
this part stays on the jeep until the winter is over
[img][/img]
[img][/img]
the only thing i never got round to doing is the set up for the winch to lift the plough .
new 4.5 lift kit bought and got a front winch bumper so i might be modifying the way the plough attaches to the jeep and get the winch set up sorted

Geordi, that's fantastic!
While I was re-reading the thread, I was thinking that a tow-ball mounted plough might not be such a silly idea. A plough like this isn't going to clear ice or compacted snow anyway, so it is going to be as difficult (and not so much fun) to drive over the ploughed surface as ahead of the plough.
It also largely solves the snagging problem as it will tend to lift as the drag increases.
It would probably have to be V shaped so it's not pulled to either side too much as you would get with a / shaped blade. The biggest advantage of this approach is how easy it is to attach, detach. If you put wheels on the top side, you could turn it upside down and tow it as a trailer?

mines was only built to clean the carpark for customer parking so long as i catch it before it gets run over it clears it up ok
the landrovers have good bumper to make a towball one once i fit the winch bumper i might see about converting it to a tow ball mount as it hinges better for lifting

Well it's finished at last and all put away till the snow comes (next year) Would have had it finished off sooner but we've had no snow at all:(
