We went down our club on Sunday and didn't quite end up hanging off a cliff but my Mrs did put it on it's side... Only damage is a rippled front wing, so no great dramas. Twas a good job we had the cage though!!!

Good chance to check the underside of the truck. :) Glad to hear no injurys. Cages, although they can be pricey,a great thing to have on a truck.... Especially if the mrs is drivin'.

Just wondering, how did you get it back the right way up?
I always have this vision about pushing and pushing as it rocks backwards and forwards until it eventually goes back over with an enormous crash, having put 55 dents in the sides from the 55 oscillations before it goes.
Or do you dig holes under the wheels first?

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

This is how we got it back over. Winched off the rockslider so as to not put leverage on the cage any more than necessary.

Note the admissions she makes in the recording!!! It's OK though, she wasn't in too much trouble!

I thought about giving it a good look over but I wanted it back on it's wheels asap to stop the fluids going where they shouldn't.

I was quite fortunate barely any oil got tot he top of the engine but a little wait and patience saw it drain back down before turning it over - did not want it hydraulicing on me!

Cages are expensive but it saved the shell. The ground was baked hard and we went over across ruts with mud pushed up each side of them when it had been gooey and is now proud of the ruts and hard. It would have left deep tram lines pressed into the shell, the wing caught a little of one of these, otherwise would have been fine.

So as expensive as cages are, ours has just paid for it's self properly!

I wasn't gonna bother replacing the wing, but I might get one and change it as and when. You know how the law of the sod works and just after I change it, another dent will be delivered! If you've got one, PM me with a price for the wing and postage - obviously driver's side in black please!

Despite this, we had a really good day. Still too dry to know what these tyres can really do, but no broken shafts CV's yet and we did give it a little welly. The tyres do give a little extra ground clearance though, which was noticable by the absence of a lot of noise under the car!

I must get by diff guard off my old front axle and welded onto this one though!
