I only had one key when I bought my jimny- but it was not a transponder key- just a normal steel/brass key.
But whilst i was fitting an alarm and tidy sounds, and had the car in bits, and studied the circuit diagrams, I thought someone had bypassed the immobilizer . Because it was clearly on the drawings.
But when i had the plastics off around the wheel, I found the Transponder key Cable tied to the top of the ignition barrel .

So god knows how long it had been there. !
There is a local key cutting firm- thats mobile that charges £6 for normal cut, and £40-60, but he said it depends on the key.
He parks up in a local pub carpark a few times a week, next time hes there i'll find out more info.
