Recovery Points ..? was created by lukeyblunt
Hi All..
Having not been properly offroading yet.. I am unsure of the recovery points on the Jimny.

Below images: Parts on the undercarriage that i would have thought are reliable for recovery.

I assume this is where bullbars ect. are attatched..? but would they also help me out of a sticky situation..?

Thanks!

I would not use them for recovery, even with a bridle. I know people do and with a bridle they can be OK, but I bent one when I was proper stuck, before I had a winch bumper with a dirty big recovery hoop welded to it and couldn't get to the other side to make up a bridle and it got proper bent.

I think if I was proper stuck and used both, something would give also.

I don;t have any pictures of it on this computer, but if you look at my early pictures in the gallery on this site, you can see how I had the passenger side one beefed up on the front. On the rear, get a tow bar and a dixon bate bar hitch!

Yeah, i got a towbar in the boot.. and i can probably find a hitch in the garage somewhere.
I'm more concerned about the front.
But no worries, I'll make sure the Landys are behind me !!
(They probably will be anyway!) ;)

Thanks for the info !!

Jon place has had his eyes cut off ( tow eyes haha ) and replaced with 10mm thick steel beasts, they look well up to the job!
