Hi everyone,
first message in forum.
The rear bumper looks really great!
Would like to know how it performs off road (too much vibration?) and wich tyre sizes it could handle? Mine came with 215 75 tyres and the door suffer a bit off road.
Thanks for the pictures!
regards,
Nelson

Sorry for the late reply. Although I'm having a hard time waiting, I haven't taken it off road yet. I have about 4 months more of warranty and I know the suspension change alone will create problems, I'm sure they aren't even going to like my bumpers.
To try and answer your question more directly, I would only say that driving the roads in the Philippines is almost like going off road (yes, that's a slight exaggeration). The roads are rough enough that it sees some loading without any issues as yet. The second part of the answer is you might want to look at the thread "Made in China". I attached some pictures of how the spare is secured and mention some of my own concerns. I will update that post, and this one, once I have some off road miles on the Jimny.
As far as the 215/75 tires (sorry for the spelling.....I'm a Yank....with a capital Y) there is enough clearance with the stock tires that I couldn't imagine the larger ones not fitting. I know most people who have mounted the size you have didn't have any problems. On occasion, they have done some minor trimming of the stock bumpers. With the additional clearance these give, I just can't see that happening. I will be going to 215/75 after I have a few more miles on these. Or sooner if I can find a decent set of stock size steel wheels so that I can keep a set of on road and a set of off road tires.
Only half answers but I hope this helps

Tks Bob, but I was not clear about tyre sizes.
I was talking about the tire size the rear bumper tire carrier could handle, lol. :0)

Sorry. You were clear, I just misread your question. I have seen this bumper with a 215/75 mounted, so no problems.

Well, not much of an update but did receive and install a few goodies.
I received this group 3 days ago:
A new head unit with Nav, DVD reverse camera and several more features. Of course a reverse camera to see the kids and a USB port that replaces the cigarette lighter to keep the cell phone charged.
This is a picture of the boot screen:
I was hoping that this would give a clear picture of the head unit dashboard. It seemed any angle was bad due to either flash or field of view problems. The unit actually has a fairly crisp display. You can see the USB port where the lighter used to be.
The flash hides the USB light as well. Here are a couple of vendor pictures:
When I get the reverse camera mounting resolved, I will add another picture.
