No rain my side of the Highway and only 3 mm out over the desert. This morning (9.30am here) it is bright and sunny but cold, only 13° at the moment. Here are two pics from a couple of minutes ago to show you Cowangie in mid Winter. My rain water tank is getting real low and I may have to buy in 10,000 litres next week. I've done all the usual things to make it rain, put the golf clubs in the car, washed the car, etc but no luck.

Looking South to the Big Desert.

South West to the Jimny ;)

Don't wanna talk about it. I am trying to get some different water. I have town water which comes from a bore and is unsuitable for drinking but what I can do is put it in my rain-water tanks and use it for washin, hotwater, flushing toilets and the garden. That means I only have to buy approx 30-50 litres week for cooking and drinking purposes. That is the cheapest method. If I choose full drinkable water it will cost $350/tank at the subsidised rate. The town water (Bore water) can't be used for washing cars as it etches the glass and paint :O Nearest car wash is 190 kilometres away.

Alternative is to use the town water and fit a reverse osmosis filtration system. Costly to run and maintain but does clean the water up to suitable for humans. Wastes more than a 1/3 of water.

At the moment I am drinking wine to save on water cosshts and ish wurking quite goodly.

That's some serious money for the good stuff don't think of it being a problem here in England.
