Yep Gus, Whitey is Mighty and Black is Crack

Daniel30, it IS mostly Beer and BBQ B) but we do have to be aware of the dangers and prepared and there are minor challenges living out in the desert country. The nearest shop to me is 20 k's away in Murrayville but I have to drive into South Australia, to Pinaroo, for a decent sized Supermarket and that is 46 k's away. Early on this year I had to go to Hospital via Ambulance and that was a 190 k's trip, each way. My Dr is 612 k's from home, each way. That's why I have a few cars, for specific purposes. The Jimny for fun in the Deserts, the Celerio for economy (20.4 k's/litre petrol) and the Tribby for haulin' stuff.

There are compensations though, living in a town of 3 people. For one, I know 'em all :) The wildlife is another. Most mornings the Kangaroos come around home and mooch a bit of grass before wandering off again and the odd Emu wanders through too, though they mostly stay out in the scrub. The Goannas are friendly, as are the stumpy tails and Frill-neck lizards and the Bearded Dragons just like running around on their back legs. Mallee Ring-neck Parrots (fat lil buggas) call in the morning and have a bath in the bird-bath and eat a little grain then return in the evening for another snack and drink. The only surface water around here is in the Pink Lakes, but they are salty. There are Echidna and Bilby, Major Mitchell Cockatoos and Galahs, heaps of Galahs, even a town called Galah about 60 k's from here, with 1 resident. In the Murray-Sunset National Park 15 mins North of me there are Mallee Fowl who build huge nests for the eggs and there are heaps of Pink Lakes.

I'm heading off into the Big Desert this morning for a few hours, there is a particular sandhill that I want to Master and my mate Keith is coming along to see if I make it up the hard side.

Cheers

Yep Gus, you're welcome to stop awhile in Paradise. Great to see you have overcome your weird arachnaphobia so I've included a short Video to help you adjust to your little friend.

Cheers and Merry Xmas from Ian
