I fix aircraft avionics/electrics (amongst other things aircraft) for a living what do you need to know?

Case history.
It blew a fuse and I did note realise it was not working for a while.
I put a new fuse in and though it worked it started smoking here so I turned it off (a few times).
Here is where the smoke was coming from.

Oh here we go, picture won't upload. Arghhhhhhh
I was hoping I could send it or take it to someone to take a look at it and hopefully fix it.

Not super clear but it looks like a power transistor or a FET of some description and given it's attached to a heatsink I wouldn't be surprised if that's the cause of the smoke.
