That heavy diesel lump is nothing compared to a V8 petrol. You may think you have lots of power but in reality you need faster wheel rotation speed, preferably with 38" Boggers.

The terrain we are on is pretty boggy (Ireland) so the heavy vehicles just sink. Climbing is a huge struggle with the weight.
So the v6 have no low end power, what about the 1.6 16v?

I'm no expert but if you are keeping rr chassis and current axles I think I would be looking at the Dakar for inspiration rather than the jimny
