Had a Mini myself as first car, loved it, but no denying it was a rot box!

about as close as you could/can get to legally driving a go kart on the road, so brilliant fun.

but........

these days, getting one that's solid is tough, getting one that's solid for a half sensible price is nigh on impossible!

transmission whine was louder than the engine,

the amount of money you had to spend to get anything like decent power from the A series was crackers.

BMC/BL never understood build quality!

irrespective of what year it was built, your mini owed its crash worthiness to 1950's technology, ask Marc Bolan!


otherwise, love them to bits, nothing drives quite like a mini.
