Wahay, yes it has got rid of all the crap. All the undeletable stuff has gone. Now to try putting a CD on to WMP. Thanks. :)

Oh no, they have all reappeared. Just going to the trash bin to delete anything there.

Arghhhh, deleted them and that *****WMP has rebuilt them so now I am deleting each file with a shredder.

Nope still there!!

Are you wanting to start again with your list/music collection?

WMP will usually build a library based on the contents of certain folders. By default, it's your Music folder.

Can you rebuild the library as above, but before you re-open WMP move any contents of the Music folder somewhere else (i.e. a folder on your desktop temporarily)?

Also, I'm guessing that you're on WMP11 as you're using XP? Here's how to change the folders it checks: windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-xp/h...ia-player/11/library

Limit this to your My Music folder only.

Thanks, I'll be trying it tomorrow. Yes I think it is WMP11 - I had to have it to connect to Xbox 360. Yes I could do with starting afresh - I didn't/don't have much on the PC, just a few favourite albums.
