That's the thing I can't stand with this country, no one is happy to share, everyone wants to step on everybody's toes to get what they want, the narrow minded bigots.
The thing is there's 2types off laners, ones that do it as a hobby and respect the limited facilities they got, and then the scum brigade that just don't give a shit.
My uncle has a farm that backs onto forestry land and it used to have a lane that went through the bottom of his land, 99% of the time no trouble off bikes or cars! the occasional vehicle would take a wrong turn and end up in his yard ask where they went wrong and point them in the right direction! no bother at all. And then the lane got closed, then the trouble began, the genuine laners just stopped coming but the scum brigade did not, the lane had some massive boulders put there at the edge of my uncles land denying access. But wait the scumbags now think nothing of cutting the fence or pulling sections of it down to get into the forestry, and they drive across his fields churning it up and it's full of ruts, he can no longer use that field for growing the grass to cut for hay, can't keep any animals in it cos they will escape into the forestry at best, he has tried effortlessly to get the lane reopened but no one is interested, as a result he has cut his own land off above the lane which has cost him a lot of time and money.
And this is what the narrow bigots think they will be stopping but it will only make things worse cos scumbags don't care if the lane is open or not.

I think our country's governing bodies should plow more effort into sorting the economic state and get that back on track, we seem to concentrate on attacking the easiest targets which can make the government money. So what next, fine anyone on a green lane?? better still lets spend 10 million pounds of tax payers money and install SPECS cameras all over the green lane infrastructure and employ another million traffic wardens to stand at every country gate and hand out fixed penalty notices.
shame they seem to over-look their own hobbies, pastimes and interests when it comes to rules, laws and taxation's.
Bloody Parliament do gooder's , I have a great idea!!!! Get all the politicians together in a great big arena with us normal public folk (all armed with pitchforks) and let us have our say, drop the chuffin ballot boxes and have them changed for suggestion boxes, cos lets face it, not one of the idiots have a clue about running a country

i agree this doesn't look promising. the trouble is, when they consult on matters like this, they never ask the people that actually do it and even if they did we are so relatively few in number.
most pastimes that have been banned seem to be at the request of people who don't do it and therefore think that no one else should.
in the government's view , if we can afford to go green then they will assume they are not taxing us enough. their policy is to just give us enough to keep turning the hamster wheel and they've just about got that right. if we get any more money in our pockets or any less, the wheel may stop turning. they wouldn't want that would they ???
