i had a 1989 g wagon about 10 years ago. always say it was the best 4x4 i've ever owned ( but it did have a liking for petrol ). drove like a range rover on road and off roaded like a mountain goat. sold it for £1000 when the clutch went ( couldn't afford the £400 i was quoted at the time to get it done). my kids used to call it the big red box. the interior was the very worst of germanic period design, brown checked seats. bloody awful

:laugh: mine too ( worth it for the axles though ). with what i've spent on the jim in the last 2 months i could have bought a g wagon though. then again they're big time prone to body rot. even a tidy one may be full of tin worm
