yep its a "feature" of the VW/Audi diesel engine, they do it more than most diesels (all diesels will do it if provoked)- my A3 did the same thing and coincidentally so does the merc

we to have a a4 avant tdi 130,bord of it but cant get rid of it coz there is not anything to replace it realy size mpg looks cost etc.loads of black smoke when put foot down tempted to get a kn filter after fittin one on the jimny to see the difference.will it do owt for the smoke? i dont think it will,

nope - its a feature of VW/Audi diesels the only way to stop it is to drive gently :huh:
