Yes, due to popular demand we have organised a BigJimny Meet event on June 14th 2026 at  Parkwood 4x4 (a.k.a Tong) which is between Leeds and Bradford in West Yorkshire. This is a meet-up with 4x4 off-road drive around event. This is a social meet along with the opportunity to drive your vehicle off-road on a site where there is something for everyone. So its time to put it in your diary as this is a not to be missed event.

This is an event for all vehicles, from shiny to fully tricked up. It is also a social event with overnight camping and a great vibe for those wanting to simply hang around with fellow Jimny enthusiasts. The event location is Parkwood 4x4 which is often called "Tong", the postcode is BD4 0RR. This is one of the largest off-road sites in the UK and has a variety of firm tracks through to extreme testing terrain. There will be a burger van during the day for breakfast, snacks and lunch. We will be also organising toilets and wash facilities for the camping area.

All participants must be pre-booked, turn up ad-hoc on the day will not be permitted. General spectators are not permitted as there is only limited space. Everyone attending should have a seat in a booked vehicle and that seat should have appropriate safety provision (seat belt, child seat, harness etc.)

Booking is PER VEHICLE and it is £45, there is a multi-vehicle discount for VEHICLES BOOKED AT THE SAME TIME so gather your friends together and make a single booking to save.

Additional drivers/passengers with the same vehicle are free, we are setting the limit on tickets to 140.

BEFORE YOU BOOK - You can ask questions etc. in the forum here: - FORUM DISCUSSION

ONCE YOU HAVE BOOKED - There is a WhatsApp group just for this event (no Technical Support or general Jimny Chat) - Please email  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your entry number and mobile number to gain  access

VEHICLES

Trailered vehicles are permitted, however this is a family drive around event so do not come if you expect to blast around in a "scrapper". BigJimny and the site owners reserve the right to refuse entry to vehicles that appear to be little more than scrap. There has been a rise in recent events(not BigJimny events!) where people have brought along a scrapper to destroy, this is not what this event is about.

As with any motorsport or motor related event, there is a small element of danger. You are responsible for driving in a safe manner. The event is suitable for beginners and shiny cars but you should be aware that there is always a chance of a puncture or foliage scratches dependant on how you drive.

Kingpin Bearings - The Video

Kingpin Bearings - The Video

As my "How-to" guide is really out of date, I decided to create a video of this last weekends Kingpin bearing change on "LittleJimny" before it goes off to its new owner. This is the way, whether you like it or not, that I change the Kingpin bearings....

Don't over grease your CV's!!

So, as described in the previous blog post (http://www.bigjimny.com/bigjimny-blog/jimny-modifications/entry/818-littlejimny-steering-wobble-1)  I am chasing down a wobble prior to selling LittleJimny. I am preparing a "How to" video but here is an advance finding from my work. The previous owner must have had the Kingpin Bearings changed at so...

LittleJimny - Steering Wobble

Christmas is when we take LittleJimny off the road and into the garage for a service. This year is a bit different as LittleJimny is going up for sale soon as James is looking to change to a different car. Therefore I need to sort some things out. The first is a little steering wobble..... Of course, this is only a small wobble compared to what it ...

ARB airline - continued

ARB airline - continued

Well the part finally turned up today after nearly 3 weeks of waiting :( I have re-tapped the Diff casing thread as it looks like there is enough metal to form a decent thread. As you can see from the picture, the new adapter also has considerably more thread!

Stabiliser/Drop Link - MOT Time

Stabiliser/Drop Link - MOT Time

So the MOT time is approaching for "LittleJimny" and we knew that one of the stabiliser links (or drop links) is bent and leaking grease. It is a straight forward process to change these although inevitably occasionally things get stuck. Here is the old link in position, all you have to do is undo the two nuts securing it. As they are swiveling ...
