A long standing issue with Jimnys are weaknesses in the rear shock absorber mounts. Either they get destroyed, come loose or are damaged by off-roading. Also, with lifted Jimnys, the shock absorbers can hit the springs, creating clonks and knocks. Here is mine after the bolt fell off during green laning.

These new brackets are designed to:

1. Add a new dimension of rotation to improve the shock absorber operation

2. Create an adjustable position to ensure the shock absorber does not foul the springs.

3. Move the shock absrober up out of harms way

4. Provide an extra inch of length to the shock absorber.

The kit consists of two mounts and 4 washers. The washers are to be used as additional spacers to give you more choices of adjustment. The picture below shows how you could use the washers on the end of the mount to space it out further.

The mounting points for the shock absorbers are off-center (see picture below) this permite you to further adjust the position of the shock absorber by fitting the mount the other way around.

At present, printed instructions are not included. There are many different combinations of lift kit and shock absorbers on the market and it is intended that the user will "play" around with the spacing and orientation of the brackets (and washers, nuts and bolts) to achieve the spacing desired.

Brett tested the early protoypes for us and here are some pictures (note that the prototypes were not plated).
