And because there doesn't seem to be such thing as a photo of an ORA skid plate bolted on under a truck, I took one myself! Here it is for everyone who's wondering how it sits in there. Those two M8 bolts on the left were a pain to get in place and tighten up!
I also drilled two holes in it too, so the mud wouldn't build up on it badly. The other hole is right under the exhaust because I don't like the idea of having a chunk of peat smoldering on my skid plate, and the other one is just where the t-case drain plug is, so it's easy to change the oil without having to drop the skid off every time.

I tried to put them in the other way for a few minutes, but then I just had to give up! Too nerve wracking!Smoggy wrote: Hey Paul did you give in trying to get the two passenger side bolts in face up

Not really, with a good drill and a well cutting hole saw, it took only about a couple minutes per hole. Don't forget to use cutting oil when doing something like this, or else it will start to feel like hard work!Smoggy wrote: wow. that must have been hard work

The bolts we don't find to difficult... a little fiddly yes if you have huge hands, but we put the bolt in the other may to how you have them, then you can just drop the nut inside the bracket and position it with the tip of your finger easily enough... then a 13mm spanner in ther to secure it whilst you tighten it up from below...

I think it's better this way, so everyone can drill their own holes wherever and what size they like.g187eev wrote: We have been considering adding drain holes in our next batch of skid plates as more people do seem to want them than not...
I don't know how you can call the task easy! And I don't even have particularly big hands. I think it takes a gynecologist to succeed in getting those bolts in face up!g187eev wrote: The bolts we don't find to difficult... a little fiddly yes if you have huge hands, but we put the bolt in the other may to how you have them, then you can just drop the nut inside the bracket and position it with the tip of your finger easily enough... then a 13mm spanner in ther to secure it whilst you tighten it up from below...
