High lift jack and carrier was created by Joakae
Last week I ordered a 48" high lift jack and a rear wheel carrier from jimnybits, I was just wondering how safe this would be to carry on my rear door as when I tried to lift it, I broke wind! Quite heavy stuff!

I have mine on my rear door - its attached horizontally, using two home made (by a mate) brackets and bought Poly-blocks (stops a few rattles) ...

I'll take some pictures to show it close up, but you should be able to see it at a distance here:

That's pretty cool. I have the bracket and everything but it just seems so heavy! Is it okay on the rear door? I still have my spare wheel attached too

I keep my spare where the rear seats used to be - strapped down - its inside as my wheels are 16" GV Steel Rims with 16x75 LR Tyres - too heavy to lave on rear door!

So would you say 215/75 MT on standard rims and a jack would be okay on the door?

I'd say, try it - but would probably recommend that the Hi Lift go on first then the wheel ...

But as you say, the Hi Lift is heavy, and the rear door hinges were surely only designed JUST for a spare wheel, not a Hi Lift as well ...

I would say nothing is ok on the door. Heck, even the door itself is almost too much for the hinges!

Might just sell the jack and use the mount for a spade then.
