Stick to a 2" spring lift and 215/75/15 all terrain tyres, anymore it gets expensive and affects road handling. Also the jimny is very capable stock. A good first mod is a transferbox guard.

Try Ebay they often have good bargains for our much loved Jimny. I got a very good set of, off road tyrers which i still use to this day

First step is to decide how you want it to end . . This will save you a stack of money
If you are going to be doing a fair amount offroad then a lower ratio transfer box would be the first step then wheels and a lift and recovery points
