Modified Jimny insurance was created by GWR
Hi guys, I am new to this forum and would like some suggestions about which company insure a modified Jimny. I I have just finished the usual mods ie 3" lift, and adjustable panhard rods, correction caster bushes, modular wheels, dakar tyres, snorkel etc. I am in my 40s so no probs with that side of things. Any suggestions will be welcome, but as long as they aren't rude that is cbeers

£320 for the year - all mods declared - Big Wheels, Big Tyres, 3" lift, you name they like it - best still you get a discount for being a member of BigJimny and/or Shropshire-Suzuki (£5 to become a member).
Oh, and I live 1mile from Birkenhead which means I have a shyte post code!!
Good luck.

I should have thought of Adrian Flux, my heavily modified bike is insured through them!

Sure you have got sorted by now but a +1 for Nor County Insurance, very helpful and the best by far for me (I know everyone is differant) certainly worth a quote if your getting some, also PM me as I get 10 quid if I recommend anyone, Ask for Lorraine, very knowledgable and helpful.
Just in case anyone is of this criteria
35 full no claims, no points, West yorks 215 fully comp on 51 plate. All mods suspension lift and large tyres covered, covered off road and green lanes. Was 174 TPFT. Only thing I can't do is drive someone else's car TP but I never have anyway.
Cheers

I am with Cherished also and paid £246 yesterday to renew fully comp with legal cover. They don't deal with no claims though, so you can't build it up, but that's not a worry for me. Mine is garaged with limited mileage of 5000.
The spec on mine is:
3" lift
205/8015 Malatesta Kaimans
external cage
winch on fabricated winch bumper
ORA rear bumper
Rock Sliders
Rocklobster transfer box
all mods declared like you should.
I'm near Southend-on-Sea in a nice area but I've no idea how good that makes the post code in the grand scheme things of things, probably not bad.
I've been with Adrian Flux and they are OK. My bike was insured with them via their sister company Bikesure and when some woman wrote it off they were OK to deal with.
Cherished don't seem too fussed about you adding mods. I think when it's as modded as mine it starts to not matter any more to them as it is what it is and not alot more will add to its value, it will just empty my pocket!
I've considered having an agreed value to ensure I get back enough to build another, but I don't leave it anywhere it is likely to get nicked and it's garaged at night, usually with two other cars blocking it in.
