Not such a big job for a 'handy welder' if you don't need the well, plate it over & stick the jack in a corner wrapped up.
Good luck mate you will soon be sorted I'm sure .... ;)

Hi deedar,
How many rifles do you go through, do you do alot of pest control or similar. If i didnt have my s410 i wouldnt mind a TDR version. Regarding the hunting topic in the lounge I would be up for it but we would have to ask Martin as its a public forum and not everyone agrees with what we do mate :S

Im going to do what Tadpole surgested tomorrow and cut the peice of metal that makes the loop that holds the jack down tomorrow. Also i have had a rough estimate of how much it will cost to sort the rust and was quoted around £250ish, what do you guys think

I love my little tdr it has smaller air cylinder but I think they have now fitted a slightly larger one from the carbine s410. Being small It's easy to fill quickly with a hand pump. I had mine regulated which gives amazing consistency so a lot less loopy trajectory.
For practicality your s410 is a keeper.

If cost is a problem then Gaffa tape from underneath and fibreglass the whole area, it won't rust again !
Not a problem for MOT as it's not structural and not within 30cm of a suspension or chassis mount.
Probably take a day and cost 15 quid.

Ive always wondered about getting a regulator fitted, ithe idea of repeat air consistency is appealing

It is a failure due to the rear body cross member and it is with 30cm of a body mount as mine failed due to the tin worm in that spot
