There are rules that suppliers have to follow (and many of you do follow the rules). However there have been a number of instances recently where "suppliers" have broken the rules.

Suppliers/Dealers or anyone selling with a commercial view in mind CANNOT post here unless responding to a specific request of a member in a "wanted" post.

Suppliers include people "breaking for spares" on a regular basis, when purchasing spares members should ask a supplier what they contribute to the running of the forum

Spares or repair Jimny 2003 for sale - MOT failure

Hi everyone. This is a very sad post for me. I've had my Jimmo for about 10 years and have become very attached to it. It's been the most fun car I've had, alongside the classic Minis of my yoof. Unfortunately it has just failed its MOT on welding, and the quote we've received just isn't an economical fix for us considering its age. We've researched what we could get for it as scrap, but my heart baulks at it being smashed apart by a scrap merchant who just sees it as lumps of metals. Hence my post here, amongst like minds.

I've lurked here and seen how passionate you all are about the beasts, whether it be maintaining, restoring or just bouncing around fields in them, so I thought I'd post here for advice? Ideas? Offers? Ideally I would like it to go to a good home as a project and someone that will give it some love and bounce it around a bit for a few more years (and send me photos!), but i understand that is possibly just my heart talking.

So I have more info if anyone is interested in learning more. What I will say is that its paintwork is looking its age a little (faded red but could maybe be buffed back?) there's nothing wrong with the engine that I'm aware of, I have had the 4x4 overhauled a few years back, and it has slightly wider wheels on it. Any other questions I am more than happy to answer. I can also send photos.

I am so annoyed that my otherwise sound beast has failed on welding, I can't tell you. I would've given the paint some love and kept it for years, but this isn't going to happen, sadly. But for anyone who's handy with a welder it'd make a great off-roader? Thanks for reading my stupidly long post (sorry!)

P.S. Also, moronically, the garage had almost completed a full service on it before they failed it at MOT (they did apologise for doing the service before the MOT, but please note that I still had to pay...naturally) so it also has literally just had new oil, air and oil filter.

Hi again. My husband has now suggested that I put my Jimny on eBay, as we're not sure how to value it considering all the different ages/conditions that are selling there. If it's allowed I will post the link here once I have the auction up if you're still interested? Thanks.

I've tried to link to my ebay auction here without success. However the subject heading is 'Suzuki-Jimny-JLX-2003-For-Spares-or-Repair' if anyone's interested. Thanks.
