I did the same mod and had no problems. There does appear to be a 'right way round' for the bulb though, so maybe you were just unlucky

Hi George, still here! :)

Sorry, but I've not tried removing the number plate mount, so can't help with that one.

Bought some Thule roofbars, far cheaper than the Suzuki OEM bars and great quality. Not leaving them on fulltime, they're for the odd occasion that I need a lot more storage and have to stick the roofbox on :)

Indeed. Very nice mate.

I see you have a wheel lock. Good idea!

The chrome and shiny black of the spare wheel cover weren't my cup of tea, too bling!

and the included lock was junk, rusting after the first bit of rain

Wrapped the rim and disc with matte black vinyl, replaced the lock hardware with galvanised hasp/staple and stainless fixings and padlock. The vinyl was a nightmare to fit, but pleased with the end result.

A vast improvement. ;)

The fact that there is no chrome on the Jimny, makes the shiny, shiny, blingy, blingy, stand out like a sore thumb, IMO.

I did see one of those covers on a Gen 3 Jimny, this morning, and the chrome had started to rust.
