I finally got my roof bars expensive for what they are but they are a good fit.

I took my Jimmy to a good friend and great mechanic for a good check over as I haven't had it looked at since owning it.
Thankfully the Jimny is well, there was an oil leak from rear gearbox seal and so was replaced with a genuine seal I have noticed in the service history this has been done before. At the same time did the oils in the transfer box, gear box and font and rear axles. He also noticed there was travel in the brake pedal so he adjusted the drums.

I'm glad it's all okay now I can stop worrying and enjoy driving it. I can also treat it to May be a steering damper and tow bar.

I have fitted the rear mudflaps and just ordered a steering damper from bits4vits.

looking forward to hearing your comments on how the steering damper affects steering / feel on a standard truck, it's something I was hoping to do soon,

don't forget we love photographs (Jimny Porn) ;)

Cheers Halford, I'm hoping the damper will help tame the steering wheel bounce around over pot holes. I fitted a quick rack on my old peugeot and prefer the slightly heavier steering.

I'll take some nice pictures very soon.

Looks like you have found a nice one there! I like the colour!

I found a steering damper helps a bit with bump steer but that's all it's good for. It seems to make no difference to death wobble if you ever get it. Then again if you have death wobble something is awry and needs fixing properly. I hope you don't experience it though!

Thanks kirkynut, I have always wanted a Jim in this colour I sat in one back in 2007 at a main dealer and have waited for them to come down in price.

Fortunately I have no death wobble (yet) probably due to everything being standard.

Being standard does not mean it doesn't happen but yours is quite young in real terms so a lot of the components that age or wear are going to be good still.

Thank you to Jimny-Dave for supplying me with an interior mirror/light. I got fed up with the broken switch and the light not staying on. This one even came with a green led.

I don't want to depress you but keep an eye on that oil leak.
I had an 08 in grey, as it happens, and it had the faulty propshaft problem that has been posted on here.
I too had the seal replaced but it leaked again and the cure was a new prop and another seal.
Apart from that I've had no real problems.

I did have a research of this issue before and I'm keeping an eye on it. Something tells me I won't hear the last of it so If it continues I will try another prop. It had only lost a little oil so it was more of a weep than a leak.

Shouldn't bounce over pot holes. I've never had anything like that on my old 98 or 08.
Yes it jars a bit but it's not a car with soft suspension.
I've never had the death wobble or felt any need to add a steering damper??
Have you checked tyre pressures??
Should be 23 front 26 rear on standard tyres.
They are quite sensitive to tyre pressure when it comes the ride.
I don't even raise the rears when towing my caravan!!
Garages tend to put about 30/35 in as that is what most modern low profile car tyres require but the jimny is old fashioned and uses the tyres to cushion the bumps.
Even a Suzuki garage put 35 in mine during a service and it felt as if the suspension had been removed lol

I started off high and worked my way down ever since :-)
