I hope, You understand me correctly. I have mounted auto t-box (button version - after 2005 year) from Jimny with automatic gearbox to my Jimny with manual gearbox. The different is about 33% lower ratio.j999pre wrote: Good looking jimny, hows the gearing with 31" and the auto t-box?
Welcome.
In terrain it's perfect very slowly and powerfull. On normal ride "on black" good accelerationbut max speed...
for compare real speed is about 80km/h with 3100 rpm
Thanks that answered my question nicely. Could be a cheap way of correcting gearing for larger tyres. Who needs top speed!

That is first step in triming, only to fit big tire size 31"
In #1 i suggest to cut very precise and gently sharp metal piece, that's hidden under plastic wheel arch, and paint it. As You see there is quite big hole, there collects lot of mud. In next step i'll make small mudguards to cover that hole in front and rear wheel arches.
Rear wheel
Here i suggest to first remove wheel, next cut plastic on the yellow line, and cut metal support on the orange line. First attached picture shows you how deep cut is in rear wheel arches.
I hope that useful for you.

mine are a little smaller tyres (235s) and rub more on the inside so far... did some tests and will put a 2" body lift tomorrow and see how it goes...

I think that Jimmny have lot of space inside for wheel, you have original rims? Maybe you have rims with positive offset (+ET)? I think, after 2" lift 235s tires will have enough space without trimming
