HI

my fuel cap is stuck on a 2000 Jimny, is there an emergency release somewhere?

and any ideas what the issue is (sounds like its trying to release)?

The fuel lid release wire and catch can break on other suzukis so not surprised.

Must be lubed and maintained to ensure good function.

Also if the catch on the lid get Bent when open this may occur.

If you get a friend, wife, passer by, to wiggle the wire handle while you spray lube inside the gap at the lid at the catch you may get Lucky. Also a Credit card in the gap or similar can be used to help it release.
Try pushing the lid in while a friend pull the leaver might help.

If the wire has snapped, or the little white knob, then it is a whole different story...

Norway 2005 Jimny M16A VVT, 235 BFG MT, 2" Trailmaster, ARB rear lck, 17%/87% high/low gears.
