New to jimnys but got some faults

evening folks i bought a jimny last week and havent had much luck so far but my issue is that i cannot find much threads on the issues im having. so basically i have a 2002 jimny and sometimes when i use the transfer box it will go into 4h and 4l but othertimes it will reject it does anyone have any ideas thanks

Have you checked
3 mounting rubber bobbins are ok
Have the cast alloy mountings corroded and broke
Does the truck have a body lift fitted this can stop you getting 4 low

Okay tried the jimny

It’s going in 2low fine when I’m selecting 4 low it’s sometimes going in and the light flashes then goes solid but then other times the light is just flashing and it’s not locking in 4 low any ideas

2 low have you got a switch in to trick the 4wd system ?
So 4 high is working fine (first position when lever pulled back) ?
If you're having problems going into 4 low only...
...are you pushing down on the lever when selecting low range ?
If still failing remove knob (pz2 screw on the back) then remove the gator and plate (4 screws possibly under carpet)
put knob back on and try without gator and plate
lever should not touch car body when in low position
