Evening

I left work this eve, when i started up my Jimny there was a whinning noise coming from the engine it was quite loud but faded a bit once the engine got warm but was still there, could this be the power steering belt? Will be safe to drive until i get to the garage at the weekend?

I would say if the pitch of the wine changes when you turn the steering then yes I could well be, have you checked the level of the power steering fluid? It could also be the alternator or a bearing in one of the tensioners, would be worth while seeing if the belts are loose or bearings are getting hot. Hope this helps.
