standard hub question was created by JimBru
I've had a bit of bother getting the jimny into 4wd, I followed Martins guide and got it down to either a blocked pipe or stuck hubs.

I'm fairly certain the pipes aren't blocked, only thing i have noticed is that when you remove the hubs, the sliding coller rotates inside the hub which leaves it half a tooth out which then stops it from sliding onto the shaft.

Are the sliding collers supposed to rotate inside the hub and leave it a half way between teeth. Is there anything I can do in the way of maintenance for the hubs, fill with grease etc? or should the vacuum be strong enough to pull it on anyway.

Thanks in advance

In short the answer is yes, the inner ring/collar is loose

Here I am wiggling it...

Don't "fill with grease", just make sure that they are nice and clean first then lightly grease. Check that any of the grease is not blocking the area around the main bearing and hub nut as this is where the vacuum mechanisn gets the vacuum from through the pipe on the back of the hub.

Cheers Martin, I've been at it all day and the bugger is still not working. Its blocked on the hub itself all pipes seems to be clear. I will keep at it :)
