Sorry but I don't like that at all!!!!
There is far too much pressure on that one bolt,
Have you drilled it and pinned to stop it unscrewing when you turn the steering???? If it's a nylock, it's not enough.....

If its a high tensile bolt, and the nut is thread locked, I wouldnt have an issue with that, ok, maybe U would use a solid piece of steel tube instead of the washers, but it looks ok to me

having read all of your posts. I just wanted to clear up all these issues there are 4 high tensile bolts i know that in the picture it only looks like one. They are nylocs but not pinned but what i expect i will do now is peen the threads just to make sure. The bits 4 vits spacers do not fit a jimny i have already spoken to dave there. and cp for the washers yes they are not ideal but its cheaper than steel tube and they are a damn site better than the plastic ones that are fitted as standard.

Hope this clears things up

I was confused as well and was about to ask if there were four bolts in total, thanks for clearing it up Oxford_bloke. From your picture I couldn't work out how it could possibly stay tight with your bolts or the machined version pinned, threadlocked or not! Now that we know ther's four I don't see a problem, but I'm not an engineer.

There is far too much pressure on that bolt when turning the steering,I wonder what an insurance assessor would say in the event of a collision!!!!!!!

At least put two lock nuts on and lock it off that way!!

jamie there are four bolts in total, so i would like to see you try to brake 2 8mm bolts using a steering wheel, and as for threa locking i am an aircraft engineer by trade and belive it or not rotor blades are held on by 2 bolts and 2 nylocs.
