The sensor is located behind the alternator. It doesn't take long to change. First remove the sliding adjusting bracket that holds the alternator away from the engine and is used to adjust the tightness of the belt, then loosen the bottom alternator bolt, it is a cap screw, from the radiator side. It only needs loosening, not removing, then fold the alternator towards the engine, remove the belt and fold the alternator away from the engine. The sensor is then clearly visible. Remove the connector, undo the 10mm head bolt and pull the sensor out. Replace the sensor and connector, tighten the bolt, and then refit fan belt and tighten everything back up again. Job done!

Be very careful undoing that cap head bolt.
The head is made of a sort of compressed plasticine, and the hexagon hole will turn into a round hole quicker than you can swear

Make certain your hex hey is hammered right to the bottom of the hexagonal hole.

If it wont come undone, it takes half a day to dismantle the car, the radiator has to come out then the engine mount, then you can carefully undo the bolts holding the bracket to the engine and remove the whole alternator just to undo one bolt: the end you can actually get a socket to is actually a weld nut (Guess how I know this  )

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)
