anybody here know if you could fit a transfer box from another make of car, say toyota or nissan???

sure you could if you really wanted to, but every thing costs so taking a toyota transfer and converting it to a remote fitting instead of the married one it is at the moment dosent make any sense when the sj transfer is freely available and is well catered for with crawler gears, would seem anything else is just more work and money for no obvious gain, if you really wanted to be different then maybe a lada niva transfer might be worth a punt since it has a diff in it :ohmy: and is permant 4wd, you could sling away your free wheel hubs and the 4 wd lever and have it in permant 4 wheel drive and lock the centre diff when needed, you would still have a low range but not many crawler gears for sale, but your drive train would work like a classic range rover or landrover 90,

er best stick with sj perhaps
