hi,
i would like to know, wath is the most comfortable ( soft ) between the two shocks: procomp ES 1000 and procomp ES 9000.

I have 2 front procomp ES 1000 +3" on my jimny, and I am very satisfied, very comfortable, soft.

But I have a friend who would like to buy the procomp ES 9000 +3":what about?

Are they more soft, more comfortable... is it the same, or harder????

Thanks for reply ;)

As a general rule.

ES1000 - Soft (oil Filled)
ES3000 - Medium (oil Filled)
ES9000 - Hard.(gas filled)

It is more technical than that with pressure, rate etc. but for those of us who are novices then I understand that its a reasonable summary. No doubt a competition enthusiast will be able to tell the proper story.

Martin.

Just a little bit of extra information for you. My French Jimny had ES1000's all round when I bought it, but the back ones were leaking. I replaced them with some Trail Master Comfort range from Martin and found they gave a very good comfortable but controlled ride. When the front ones are worn out I will put Trail Master ones on as well. I expect they will last longer too.

Manual VVT, 2 1/2" lift, ORA castor corrected arms, 2" ORA body lift, 4:1 transfer box, Uprated front shafts & CVs ERM , ARBs back & front 3.9 diffs, 6 point cage, ORA winch bumper - Superwinch EP9, ORA rear bumper, ORA axle truses, Diff guards ERM , TBR tank guard, Snorkel, Kumho KL71.30.9.50 15

I downgraded from ES3000's to ES1000's because offroad, they were way too hard. 1000's loverly fo rmy back and bum now :)

My suspension is very soft and bouncy, maybe a bit too bouncy... would this be because of the springs or shockers?

The shocks would be what is causing that. If it wasn't doing that before, then the shocks are on their way out. If its been like that since the beginning then the shocks were just a soft pair. Upgrading to stiffer ones would fix that
