Toyota Axles

In my defence I have only broken 1 CV and bent the front leading arms and a rear driveshaft.
The CV was not the usual heavy right foot issue, the front wheel was wedged into a wheel sized V-shaped gulley and I turned the wheel hard against the gulley wall and tried to drive the wheel up the edge of the gulley.
The front leading arms were on a baked hard site during the summer. The ruts were like concrete and I noticed the bends in the arms when I got home
The rear driveshaft must have happened at some time without me noticing, it was only when I was looking for a rubbing noise later that I found it.
The rest of my woes are due to the very sandy off-road sites in the area, the sand gets into everything and wears it out instantly.
As Gary says, toyota axles are a lot of work and you have to watch the gearing to make sure your engine can actually turn the wheels. However by seriously over specifying the axles you should have fewer bends and breakages.
