Would a 255/70/15 with a 2" lift kit fit in a jimny? First, i have a stock 2013 jimny and i plan to lift it to do some offroading, also a lifted jimny looks nice and will become more capable offroader. I have been reading around the forums and i havent seen a thread that will help me enlighten my question.
why i chose 255/70/15 29.1" tall
1.  i think its because its below 31" on which i am required to change some gearings
2. With 2" lift kit i "think" it would not require trimming or at least a minimum trimming along the wells and fenders and stuff or at least it will help provide a bit of clearance along the wells 3. With 255's it would look nice and snug on it without spending too much
please help me with these assumptions that i have in mind

I'm guessing here, but my guess is based on my experience with my JB74 Jimny, AND also other Suzukis, with larger, more powerful engines than the M13 that you most likely have in that 2013 Jimny.

My guess is you're really going to feel the impact of those larger, heavier tires, not only in the way the vehicle accelerates & in the fuel consumption, but also in the way it stops.

255/70s are going to be too wide for the stock 5.5" rims, you're probably going to need, I'm guessing (again) at least an 8" wide rim,

I'm going to refrain from guessing on how much trimming you're going to need to do, because we're discussing a vehicle that I'm not familiar with, and I have no idea what the offset on your new wheels will be, but I will say that when you're discussing tires as wide as you are, you need to carefully consider the arc that the outer edges of the front tires follow as you turn from lock-to-lock - it might require more than just "minimum trimming" - I went from a 235/60R16 on one of my Suzukis to a 235/70R16 and these slightly larger tires hit the frame on full lock.

255.70s on a Jimny will need significant trimming as they are monstrously wide. They will also noticeably reduce ground pressure which is only useful for very specific terrain conditions like sand and bottomless swamps. What they won't do is cope at all well with wet tarmac. I would look at something narrower with the same height, that will be easier to get inside the wheel arch at full compression. Wider isn't always better.

Also what lead to me at this assumption is that my friend is rocking a 31/10.5/15 rims, should i take that into consideration?

Much bigger than a 235.75r15 will need some kind of regearing. You can go as big as you like but it starts getting increasingly difficult. There are some out there running 37s but they are a long way from a standard ish Jimny.

Do you think 225/75/15 will do instead?

The major limiting factor is really going to be the availability of suitable off road pattern tyres in all these sizes. I had a really hard time finding a set of 4 in 205,70 when I was looking for myself in a pattern I like at a reasonable price. But yes a 235,70 is also an option.

Anything wider than a 215 will probably require a wider rim, so you'll need to factor that cost into your calculations, and please be aware that rims to fit a Suzuki with the 5x5.5 bolt pattern are not very common.

215/80R15 is around the same size and works well on the Gen 3 with a 40 or 50mm lift. No trimming is required.
