Many thanks for this. In contrast see email from my Suzuki dealer. This is all rather mysterious: both can't be right.

Well considering how bad their organisation of selling cars has been with the Jimny, I am not surprised they cant agree on this. That said.... as I have it in writing i think they will have a difficult time denying it. I am hoping that I wont need to make any warranty claim. The added protection should see me through the 10 odd years I plan on keeping the car.
